Noah Johnson

3rd Year Graduate Student

Graduated from The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a B.S. in Biochemistry. While in undergrad, I worked in the Aslanidi Lab on engineering recombinant Adeno-Associated Virus (rAAV) to improve their efficacy as viral vectors for gene therapy and cancer vaccines. After graduating, I joined the Davis Lab as a microbiology researcher, where I studied the colony morphology and phenotypic switching (CMPS) of common human commensals to better understand how/why yeasts become pathogenic. Joining here in Fall 2024, I am continuing my interests in studying microbes and their great potential to improve society. My current focus is on engineering large gene clusters to determine the biosynthesis of a bacterial terpenoid.
